About Us

Culture Splash

Culture Splash gives children a splash of different cultures using music, movement, drama, and arts and crafts. Children have the opportunity to learn about geography, the everyday life of people from all over the world, various languages, cultural rituals, and histories.

 Our Mission

The Culture Splash mission is to educate children about different cultures while incorporating principles of good character, trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.

Our Why

Culture Splash attracts children from all backgrounds and is fantastic at firing enthusiasm for learning. This experience will drastically  breaks down barriers between children from different backgrounds, positively charging and motivating them to do well in school and in life, and to respect others.

Culture Splash programs are bound to improve school attendance, enhance the enthusiasm for school, build children's confidence and encourage them to lead active lives. Children of our community depend on the different educational and business entities who can make this  experience come true.

Culture Splash Programs

Summer Camp

The day camp, running six weeks, will be broken down into five one-week sessions with the sixth week consisting of a student-produced show that exhibits their experience.

Each day at camp students will participate in a unique session referred to as Arts Share Time. During this session students have the opportunity to observe and discuss performances by professional dance companies, musicians, actors and actresses. This will expose students to the etiquette of being a good audience, indirectly teaching them how to listen, observe, and positively critique various performances ranging in a variety of  forms, styles,  art-disciplines and technical and emotional mediums

School Residency Program

The Culture Splash residency program is a condensed version of the summer program. Each year Culture Splash chooses one culture of study for each fiscal school season.

Depending on school funding, this program can include exposure through any one or a combination of music, movement, drama, and/or

arts & crafts. We can design a residency to suit your students. The student-produced performance will be included as a part of the school residency. Please inquire about affiliated company performances, residency rates and funding ideas.

Artist Enrichment Program

The primary goal of the Artist Enrichment program is to provide opportunities for artists and arts organizations whose efforts promote social change to enhance their abilities and skills to make art. Applicants should be able to demonstrate their artistic commitment and their understanding of the relationship between art and social change. Applicants may request funds for a range of activities including: artistic development, artist residencies, the exploration of new areas or techniques, and the creation of new art.

The Impact of Culture Splash Programs

At Culture Splash, values are acquired, self-reliance and sportsmanship learned, interpersonal skills developed, character and confidence built.

Culture Splash strives for the development of interpersonal relationships through group experience, fulfillment of each student’s potential through goal-setting, and cultural enrichment through association with the staff and peers.

Culture Splash will be introduced as an incentive program for children to do well in school. When this goal has been met, only invited students will be accepted. Related-art teachers and administrative staff will select students.

Culture Splash can be used to promote positive behavior, academic achievement, and the principles of good character. This is a great incentive program for the academically challenged and/or students with improper behavior.

Character Development

Character building and the practice of rewarding six principles (Trust-worthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship) are primary objectives at Culture Splash. Children of all faiths and ethnicities are welcomed to Culture Splash and add to the diverse population of the splash community. Each morning a character building thought will be presented during opening ceremony. Each evening, students gather to review the day’s activities and participate in songs and rituals led by members of Culture Splash’s staff.

The Culture Splash Jamboree

The Culture Splash Jamboree is a festival that complements the dynamic programming of Culture Splash. This event will allow children, educators, and parents the opportunity to experience the typical day of a Culture Splash experience in a condensed time frame. A wide array of artists will present cultural impacted, hands-on activities such as singing, dancing, drama improvisation games, storytelling, and handicrafts. Each artist will be given 20 minutes to entertain the audience with their cultural impacted activity. Between the artist presentations there will be performances by comedians, musicians, dancers, and much more. This festival will splash Columbia with a taste of different cultures, indirectly exposing them to Culture Splash. Imagine a room filled with excited children experiencing nonstop interactive activities, indirectly learning about the  culture of their friends and schoolmates. This event will  definitely illustrate the potential impact Culture Splash  will have on the surrounding community.
